"Pardon me, but where am I?" questioned Thalia. Not so much a word from the elf as she seemed amused with a little fairy that made its presence known. Thalia reached a hand out to tap the elf when she suddenly answered. "This is Lorwyn, what business do you have with me here?"
Shocked , Thalia could only burst out." I was saved by someone and brought here. I am looking for a way back home."
"Home? Well, I might be able to help." spoke the elf. A crooked smile formed on her face as she turned to Thalia. "But, you will have to duel me in battle before I help you. Should you win, I will show you the way, if you lose though your life is mine. " Spoke the elf calmly.
Faced with a chance to find her way home, Thalia knew her own strength and couldn't turn this down. " I agree to your terms dark elf. "
" You will call me Maralen as it will be the last name you will know of" scowled the elf.
Both mages stood armed and ready to battle the other neither side sure on what they should expect from the other. Maralen made the first move just gathering mana leaving Thalia to make her move to get ready. Thalia would find peace of mind in Seraph Sanctuary as she stayed ready for her foe.
Only another mana for Maralen and then Thalia would send forward Nyxborn Shieldmate to do battle for her. Maralen would simply make herself known showing she was ready for battle. Maralen would activate her special ability as Thalia was ready to make a move.
" You will now lose some life for that spell your after white mage." with a sort of evil chuckle to her voice.
" Very well, and my name is Thalia dark elf!" Thalia scolded back to the elf.
Thalia tried to send Maralen on a Journey to Nowhere but only simply let the elf get away from battle as the Shieldmate took some life from Maralen.
Thalia would again take charge sending in her Shieldmate and follow that up with a powerful staff. The Staff of the Sun Magus would enable her to heal during this battle. But Maralen would again make her presence known on the battle field. Enabling her ability yet again as Thalia was ready to make a move. Losing some of her life, she sent forth the Spear of Heliod to charge up her Shieldmate. Once again this proud warrior charged into battle taking more life from Maralen.
"Hahaha this is your best Thalia?" mocked Maralen, " I'm affraid you won't last much longer with power like that"
With a confused look on her face, Thalia watched as Maralen summoned a terrible looking creature to do battle. Scourge Familar as it is known, bared its claws ready to shred any foe it sees. Thalia quickly went after a powerful spell to keep this creature at bay. Oblivion Ring quickly removed this creature from battle clearing the way yet again for Thalia's Shieldmate.
" Looks like your the one who won't last long at this rate Maralen." mocked Thalia. Enraged now that her favorite pet has met an untimely end, she cast forth a terrible spell to stop Thalia in her tracks. Death Cloud cleared the battlefield of everything. A truly powerful spell, taking away life, creatures hands and what mana had been generated already to lower levels. All Thalia could do is play a Spellbook and wait for more mana to be generated. Marlane would only start to make her mana grow yet again. For what seemed like an eternity, the two would only stand off building their mana back up anxious to launch another attack at the other. It wasn't long before Maralen once again stepped onto the battlefield. With that Thalia would take a stand as well ready to deal with her new foe head on. The two would stand briefly, and Thalia charged in to meet Maralen. Faced with Thalia now being bestowed a power granting her even more might Maralen could only take what little damage was being done.
With her head held high Thalia looked at her foe with a grin" This is seeming one sided Maralen, you can just give up now and spare your life"
Unwilling to surrender, Maralen made her next move and it was a bomb shell for Thalia. Ad Nauseam allowed Maralen to filter through her entire spell tomb in search of one more way to take down Thalia. Things have to end fast for Thalia or this could get much worse. Charging in for another attack Thalia would take even more life from her foe. The Angel of Jubilation made her appearance known for Thalia granting the mage even more deadly power. This made Maralen use another powerful artifact, Elixir of Immortality to gain some life back from the last attack and finally unleash Death Cloud yet again. The battlefield had been reset yet again, and now Thalia has to start over yet again.
The two would stand tall against each other just waiting for the next move again. Their endurance starting to drop and will power growing weak. Finally Maralen would make the next move letting the spell Exsanguinate explode onto the scene draining Thalia of precious life. Still waiting to generate mana Thalia could only hope that her life holds out long enough. Maralen makes her next move and it is just as dangerous as the last was. Suddenly, Thalia realized what Maralen has done. She has now set herself up for an infinite loop.
With just the Elixir and Exsanguinate she can continue to drain Thalia of her life. Each time getting more and more life as the battle grows longer.
" Yes, now you can see your life is now nothing in the face of my power. Now, it is time to end this." chuckled Maralen as she casts the spell Exssanguinate one last time draining Thalia of what little life she had left....
Thalia has fallen to Maralen, another poor soul that has been gathered by her might. Is there anyone who can stop the terror that is on Lorwyn?????
